Gosh, it’s one of those Muslim chaps

Excuse the cliched opening line, but I thought it was fitting, as I live in a country which is starting to feel a little like an…ambiguously named 1970′s sitcom called “The Brownies.” ¶ It’s with no inconsiderable discomfort an alarm that I have come to notice a profound presence of Islamophobia within society. Let me clarify that: I’m a 31 year old, middle class, educated, white man, living in a capital city with a not-higher-than-average Muslim population. My neighbours are all white middle class folk like myself, except for one Black guy and his Hispanic wife, and as far as I know, none of them are Muslim.

The disturbing Pick Up Artist community

The internet is frankly awash with weird and disturbing communities of various types. Be it the almost moral-free abyss of 4Chan, or the…horrible underworld of the silk road (where one could hire a hitman, buy illegal drugs and procure various other nefarious products and services — until they closed it down), there are plenty of places on the internet where you can find yourself saying “Oh god” and looking away in disgust. Out of them all though, I find one in particular quite incomprehensibly disturbing, and that’s the Pick Up Artist community.
